PRE/POST PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCLEROTHERAPY & PHLEBECTOMY

 

 

 

PREOPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS:

1.              Do not apply any type of moisturizer to your leg the day of the procedure.

2.              Wear loose clothes/shorts.

3.              Be sure to obtain a pair of compression hose before leaving the office.

 

 

FOLLOWING SCLEROTHERAPY & PHLEBECTOMY TREATMENT SESSION:

1. Walking is strongly encouraged for at least 30 minutes following treatment.

2. Avoid standing without moving (if you must stand in one place, flex and relax      calf muscles periodically).

3.              Avoid hot baths or hot tubs for two weeks.

4.              Wear medical support hose as instructed.

5.              Avoid strenuous physical activities (aerobics) for at least 72 hours.
