The field of interventional radiology is a relatively new field, having been part of the medical landscape for the past 40 years. It has opened up a new realm of nonsurgical and minimally invasive procedures and become a first-line option for many procedures that historically could only be accomplished by traditional surgical methods. Internventional radiology technology often times can accomplish care with less risk, less pain, and less recovery time than traditional surgical options.
